Integration of Akeneo PIM System into the Infrastructure of the LAPP Group B2B Portal
LAPP Russia is the representative office of the international holding LAPP Group in Russia. It is a major manufacturer and supplier of cable and wire products. The company has almost 40 thousand items and about 20 thousand SKUs in its catalogue, and its factories and production centers are located all around the world.
CLIENT
The customer wanted to improve the process of product data management on their B2B portal. To that end, it was necessary to implement a local solution specifically developed for the Russian business unit. Although SAP integration with EPIM had been configured earlier, the access to the holding's shared storage with product information was restricted. We came up with a solution that allowed integrating Akeneo PIM, SAP, and the B2B portal, based on partial data upload, without affecting the restricted part of the storage.
OBJECTIVE
We started with the migration from EPIM to Akeneo PIM. This allows system users to download, edit, and synchronize data from ERP systems and send information updates to the sales channel.
AKENEO PIM INTEGRATION
Akeneo PIM system is a master system for working with products, categories, images, and documents uploaded to a B2B portal and a centralized storage for all this information. Thus, all the source XML files with EPIM-data were processed and uploaded to Akeneo.
SINGLE DATA STORAGE
We also implemented and set up integration with the B2B portal for documentation and data acquisition with the configurable download frequency.
SYNCHRONIZATION WITH THE B2B PORTAL
The migration from EPIM system to Akeneo PIM system allowed the client to manage all products, categories, documents, and media content in a single system. Due to the integration of Akeneo PIM system with the B2B portal, all changes are immediately displayed in the product card or categories.
