Client
The Store is a US company focused on refurbishing and reselling certified electronics.
The client aimed to build a multilingual marketplace. It was necessary to solve the challenge of managing and maintaining large catalogs with millions of SKUs, as well as enable supplier aggregation.
Solution
We proposed packaging all the complex logic for feed ingestion and supplier interactions into Akeneo CE PIM.
Functionality and interface
We customized the Akeneo PIM interface and functionality to match the client's requirements.
We automated product management; the system currently contains 30,263 products. PIM integration made it possible to sync the entire product data set by categories and groups in a single system for easier work and processing.
We'll curate materials for your task
We'll reply within 30 minutes and send relevant cases, diagrams, or analyses tailored to your context.
Integration with a custom ERP
Taking into account the client's document workflow and pricing specifics, we integrated a custom ERP system that supports all rules, markups, discounts, and penalties.
Akeneo PIM was also integrated with Magento and Vue Storefront.
Supplier management
Because the project focused on supplier workflows, we implemented the ability to import products to the site from multiple sources. Suppliers work in the personal account on the site, which is connected to the Akeneo PIM interface through an API.
Direct product import
We enabled products to be published to the storefront directly from Akeneo PIM, eliminating the time needed to synchronize the site with the PIM system. The solution was built using the site front end as a PWA that stitched data between Magento and Akeneo.
The need for direct product import was driven by the requirement to work efficiently with large catalogs designed for hundreds of millions of SKUs.
PXM system integration
Since the marketplace will be used by customers from different countries, product attributes, content, and copy had to be adapted and enriched according to region, language, and cultural norms. To meet these requirements, we integrated a PXM system.
