LAPP is the CIS representative office of the international LAPP Group holding. It is a major manufacturer and supplier of cable and wire products. The company's catalog includes 40,000 product items and about 20,000 SKUs, with factories and production centers worldwide.
Challenge
The client wanted to improve the process of managing product data on its B2B portal. To do this, a local solution had to be implemented specifically for the CIS division. Although SAP integration with EPIM had already been set up, access to the holding's shared product information repository was closed. We proposed a solution that made it possible to integrate Akeneo PIM, SAP, and the B2B portal using a partial data export without affecting the restricted part of the repository.

At the outset, we migrated from EPIM to Akeneo PIM. This made it possible to load, edit, and synchronize data from ERP systems and send up-to-date information to the sales channel.

Single data repository
Akeneo PIM is the master system for working with products, categories, images, and documents that are exported to the B2B portal and serves as a single repository for this data in one system. As a result, all original XML files with data from EPIM were processed and uploaded into Akeneo.
B2B portal synchronization
On the B2B portal side, an integration was implemented and configured to receive these documents and data, with a defined upload schedule.
Result
The transition from EPIM to Akeneo PIM enabled the client to work with products, categories, documents, and media content in a single system. Thanks to the integration of Akeneo PIM with the B2B portal, any changes are reflected immediately in the product card or categories.
