Vercel's AI SDK 6 was released in December 2025 and reached more than 20 million downloads per month. It provides a unified API to multiple model providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Mistral, etc.), stable support MCP through `@ai-sdk/mcp`, agent abstractions (ToolLoopAgent), and human-in-the-loop tool-call confirmation. Works with Next.js, React, Vue, Svelte, and Node.js. For business, this means model interchangeability and no vendor lock-in: AI features are embedded in the web interface on the same stack as the interface itself.
