ELMA BPM is the historical name of the ELMA platform; the current product is ELMA365, a low-code BPM platform: according to the vendor, it has 4,000+ customer companies, has been in the CIS software registry since 2016, and is No. 1 among BPM systems in CIS according to the TAdviser ranking (elma365.com). In 2026, the platform gained ELMA Cortex - AI agents embedded in processes - and a new release cycle: 4 major releases per year for On-Premises and 1 LTS.

The CIS BPMS market at the end of 2025 was 33-34 billion RUB (Skolkovo Foundation and TAdviser study); the most mature trio is BPMSoft, ELMA365, and Directum RX. ELMA BPM to ELMA365: what changed

ELMA BPM (the 3.x line) is a classic BPM system with desktop administration and BPMN-based processes. ELMA365 is its web-native successor on a low-code model: processes are built from applications, visual scenarios, and ready-made solutions, run in the browser and mobile app, and most scenarios can be adapted without programming.

Platform scale - according to the vendor (elma365.com, company page): 4,000+ customer companies, 500+ employees, 16+ years in the market, 250+ partners; the product has been in the CIS software registry since 2016 and, according to the vendor itself, is No. 1 among BPM systems

of CIS by TAdviser ranking

Starting with version 2026.4, ELMA365 has a new release scheme: 4 major releases per year for On-Premises, 7 intermediate releases only in SaaS and demo environments, plus 1 LTS release per year.

For on-prem installations, this means predictable update windows instead of a continuous stream of versions.

ELMA365, BPMSoft, Directum RX: the market's mature trio

According to the Skolkovo Foundation and TAdviser study (June 2026), the most mature CIS BPMS platforms are BPMSoft, ELMA365, and Directum RX. The profiles below are based on the study and the vendors' public positioning; your landscape, not the ranking line, determines the choice.

The study estimates the AI maturity of leaders at 83% versus 31% for the other participants. Any of the three platforms will have to be fitted into the existing landscape - the integration layer matters more than the ranking position. 1C integration: what the built-in connector does and where it falls short

The licensed built-in 1C Connector synchronizes 1C reference data and documents on a schedule or triggered from processes; 1C reference data appears in ELMA365 as native applications (elma365.com documentation). In May 2025, ELMA and partner Onellect released Connector 2.0 - bidirectional ELMA365 ↔ 1C exchange without code, including document cards and transaction registers. For document management, approvals, and reference synchronization, this is enough.

The connector's limit is end-to-end event-driven processes and master data: when a process must react to events in 1C, WMS, and EDR simultaneously, and reference data must have a single source of truth across 3+ systems, an integration layer (bus) is needed. Without it, ELMA365 risks becoming another silo with point-to-point exchanges. How such a layer is built - ESB integrations; what the project includes and how much it costs - ELMA365 implementation and 1C integration.

ELMA Cortex: AI agents in processes

The winter 2026 ELMA365 release introduced ELMA Cortex, a platform of enterprise AI agents embedded in processes; at the same time, scenario development, document management, and 1C integration in KEDO were strengthened (elma365.com). In June 2026, Cortex gained sensitive data masking for LLM work, a Guardrails builder, isolated projects, and improved support for Yandex and Sber models (CNews). The practical takeaway: an agent is only as useful as the data landscape connected to it.

An AI agent in procurement approval works only if it can see up-to-date 1C reference data, warehouse stock, and document statuses - so Cortex depends on the same integration layer as ordinary processes. FAQ

Frequently asked questions about ELMA BPM and ELMA365

How does ELMA BPM differ from ELMA365?

ELMA BPM (3.x) is the historical generation of the platform. ELMA365 is the current product: a low-code model, browser and mobile app support, a marketplace of ready-made solutions, and ELMA Cortex. New capabilities are released only on ELMA365.

How much does ELMA365 implementation cost?

It depends mainly on the volume of integrations. Market benchmarks from integration partners (troffcons.ru, not an offer): a fast start for standard processes - from 90,000 RUB in 2-4 weeks; a project for up to 20 users - On-Premises licenses from 340,000 RUB plus implementation from 150,000 RUB; integrations - from 30,000 to 2,000,000+ RUB depending on API complexity.

On-Premises or SaaS?

Starting with version 2026.4, On-Premises gets 4 major releases per year and 1 LTS; 7 intermediate releases are released only in SaaS. The choice is determined by information security requirements and the desired speed of getting new features.

Do you need a bus if you already have a 1C connector?

For reference data, documents, and approvals, the built-in connector is enough. For end-to-end event-driven processes, master data, and linking three or more systems, an integration layer is needed - otherwise exchanges turn into a tangle of point-to-point connections.
